Tech Fascism
Most people know all about AI from mainstream media, but they don't know about what is going on with our tech-bro oligarchs. When anyone asks my opinion I give them a primer of these two videos:
Ghost in the Machine - full documentary movie on the history of AI and its roots in eugenics, and the TESCREAL bundle talk by Timnit Gebru. Both are free on youtube.
The third is my current reading, The Nerd Reich. The Nerd Reich is a lot more approachable than David Golumbia's Cyberlibertarianism. If anything Golumbia's tome is a good reference while reading Duran's work.
The oligarchs have reached a level of wealth and influence never before seen in history and have abandoned ethics, morals, or any form of altruism that is not self serving. Their power must be curtailed before they twist the world to conform to their dystopian worldview.
