The American Experiment is not Going Well (Part 7)
This really could be “The American Experiment is not Going Well (Part 6) Part 2” but let’s call it Part 7.
This was quite a week. SCOTUS started of with a doozy, that gratuities (bribery) for public officials after the fact are legal. The courts and local governments are open for business! They reversed Chevron, saying that agencies comprised of experts aren’t the ones who should be regulating things, nope, it should be judges. This one is particularly insane given just how open to corruption (see above) and ruled by ideology (see US Supreme Court) judges are. Then in a slight of hand they said these same agencies can be sued over and over with no statue of limitations. Finally, they topped it off by basically saying presidents are kings. Oh, and I forgot, if you’re homeless you can be arrested as now that can be declared illegal as well.
How anyone thinks any of the above decisions contribute to a functioning society is beyond me.
