Swing Kids is a 2018 South Korean musical, comedy and drama movie. It takes place during the Korean War in Geoje prison camp. The movie centers around very different characters love for tap dance, and dance in general.

The movie really begins as a musical comedy. The story and acting are delightful and very funny. Midway through the tone becomes more serious as fighting breaks out amongst the camps factions. Like so many great Korean movies the ending is not always a happy one.

It’s one of the best movies I have watched recently. Parasite, probably the Korean movie most people have heard of after winning an Oscar for best foreign picture is a great movie. Swing Kids is every bit as good, and arguably better imho.
