GOOG SMS Hot Mess

I carry two phones. Generally I prefer Android as I don’t need flagship phones that cost in excess of $1000. Google’s Pixel line up has been a good match for me since the Pixel 2. I now have a Pixel 5. However sms messaging on Android is a hot mess.

Just recently Google ended support for Hangouts which was a pretty good messaging offering. Messages is the replacement and it’s like stepping back in time. Android was released 14 years ago and still doesn’t have an answer to Apple’s iMessage app. iMessage keeps people in the Apple ecosystem.
