Bye Bye Twitter

In late 2020 I disconnected from all Facebook (now Meta) owned social media due to the prevalence of disinformation and their apparent tolerance and even promotion of the far right. At that time I stayed on Twitter and Reddit as they are valuable sources of information.

Well Elon has gone a ruined Twitter. This week I got my first Ad targeted at me that used right wing trigger words like Woke. Far right, fascist, and disinformation accounts previously banned have been allowed back on the site and he has openly shown that he is red pilled.

I don’t want to be a +1 on his MAU metrics so I’ve decided like many others to get off the platform. I’ll be deleting my account at the end of the year and begin to be more active on Mastodon. I’m hoping I can find the same level of valuable and educational content over there.
